About Rod

Rod Bagaslao is a barrister and solicitor licensed in Ontario and the Yukon Territory. He practised law for 15 years in the Philippines before coming to Canada. Rod earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of San Carlos, also in Cebu City. He is currently pursuing a Master of Laws in Administrative Law and Business Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. He was called to the bar in Ontario in June 2021 and in the Yukon Territory in April 2022, after his foreign law degree was accredited by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada's National Committee on Accreditation and he completed Ontario's licensing process. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association. Before returning to Whitehorse, Rod practised family law, wills and estates, and real estate conveyancing in St. Marys, Ontario, and worked as an associate at a Toronto-based firm focusing on family and immigration law.
