About Riali
Riali Johannesson has practised exclusively in criminal defence law since her call to the bar in 1999 and has represented hundreds of clients across Ontario. She moved her practice, Johannesson Criminal Law, from downtown Toronto to Parry Sound in 2015, and she appears regularly in the Parry Sound and Sundridge courts. Johannesson attended Carleton University in Ottawa, earning a B.A. (Hons.) in English and Law, before attending Queen's University Faculty of Law in Kingston. She articled in Toronto at the firm of Hughes, Amys, and then with her criminal law mentor, Mary J. Hall. She is Vice-President of the Parry Sound Law Association, an active member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association's Women's Committee and its courthouse representative for Parry Sound and Sundridge, and a senior member of Women in Canadian Criminal Defence (WICCD), where she participates in the mentorship program.
