About Rebecca

Rebecca Garbe joined Mel at Lift Legal in 2018 after more than a decade as a corporate commercial lawyer at an international law firm. She advises businesses from start-up to sale, assists with incorporation and formation of business entities, and acts as general legal advisor on strategic planning, commercial and employment contracts, corporate governance, finance, and tax-driven corporate reorganizations for organizations of all sizes, including not-for-profits. She also practises residential and commercial real estate law and financings, and has negotiated business purchases and sales, contracts, and shareholder disputes. Rebecca earned a degree in Psychology followed by an LLB from the University of British Columbia, graduating from law school in 2004, and clerked for seven justices of the British Columbia Supreme Court before working as a corporate commercial lawyer at DLA Piper Canada LLP (formerly Davis LLP) until she joined Lift Legal in 2018. She was born and raised in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and moved to St. Albert in 2012.
