About Patrick

Patrick Yearwood was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1954 and graduated from the University of Alberta Law School in 1979 after earning an Arts degree in political science in 1975. He articled at Berzins Willemse before moving to Shtabsky & Tussman, where he practised corporate commercial litigation and plaintiffs' personal injury work. In 1984 he joined the legal department of the Alberta Workers' Compensation Board, later becoming Director of its Legal Services Department, where he oversaw a team handling litigation, legislation redrafting, and asbestos-related actions on behalf of injured workers. He moved to Langley, BC in 1993 to join MacCallum McIntyre's litigation practice, and in 1998 he established his own firm, Yearwood & Company, in the Port Kells area of Surrey. He has acted as trial counsel on many occasions and advises corporate clients on corporate, commercial, and employment matters, and has been a Director of the British Columbia Trucking Association since 2007.
