About Patricia

Patricia Wells founded her immigration and refugee law practice upon being called to the bar in 1984, after graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. For more than 30 years she practised immigration and refugee law from downtown Toronto, serving Spanish-speaking and other communities in Canada and abroad. She has been active in access-to-justice work, including serving as supervising counsel for Osgoode Hall's CLASP student legal aid programme, President of the Board of New Experiences for Refugee Women, a founding board member of the Jane-Finch Community and Legal Services clinic, and founder of the CALA (Community Access to Legal Assistance) volunteer-lawyer program. She has been a frequent community speaker and a regular guest on the Spanish-language radio program Los Vecinos. As stated on the firm's site, she has since closed her law practice and no longer accepts new clients for legal representation, though she continues to offer notarizations, translations, and referrals.
