About Mélanie
Mélanie Chenier is the founder of Chenier Law, based in Papineau-Cameron near Mattawa, Ontario. She completed her law degree at the University of Ottawa's French Common Law Program and was called to the Ontario bar in June 2007. While in law school she worked at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic as a Tenant Division Leader and caseworker, co-chaired the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights chapter, and interned at the Canada Industrial Relations Board. She articled and completed summer internships at a large multi-service Ottawa law firm before working for a national federal public service union advising on labour and policy issues. She has appeared before labour arbitrators, tribunals, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and now focuses her practice on estate planning, real estate, and notary services. She is fully bilingual and offers her services in both English and French, and also serves as an elected councillor for Papineau-Cameron Township.
