About Mary

Mary (Waterman) Newton is a partner and a native of Wareham, Bonavista Bay. She lived and worked in Alberta and Ontario, including time in the financial and manufacturing sectors, before being called to the Bar and joining the firm in 2010, and has been a partner since 2020. Her practice covers family law, fisheries and wildlife defence, criminal defence, wills and estates, real estate, civil litigation, administrative law, and personal injury. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University (2009) and attended Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador for her undergraduate studies. She is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and a former director of the Gander Lions Club.
