About Fiona

Fiona Innes is a partner who joined the firm in July 2005 and has been a partner since 2015. Before practising law she was a Special Assistant to a former federal Minister for International Trade, and a Special Assistant and Assistant Press Secretary to a former Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in February 2000 and practised family law and wills and estates there for five years before being called to the Bar of Newfoundland and Labrador in June 2005. Her practice covers personal injury, family law, wills and powers of attorney, estate administration and litigation, and real estate. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University (1998) and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University, majoring in political science with a minor in French. She is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Law Society of Ontario, serves as director and secretary/treasurer of Cara Transition House Inc., a shelter for abused women and children, and is a member and past board member of the Gander Status of Women Council.
