About Laura

Laura Pilon has practised family law since her call to the Ontario Bar in June 2017, working at two small firms including Cohen & Lyngseth from 2017 to 2020 and Duplain Law from January 2021 onward. She has experience in both family law litigation and mediation, and holds training in mediation and collaborative family law, allowing her to act as a mediator or provide independent legal advice to clients who have already reached an agreement through mediation. Pilon has worked with clients from the LGBTQ+ community and with clients navigating abuse, addiction, or mental health issues. She earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2016 and a B.Sc. with Honours in Neuroscience from Carleton University in 2013, and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Legal Aid Ontario Panel (Family).
