About Katharine
Katharine 'Katie' Sutherland grew up in British Columbia and returned to Campbell River after completing her law degree in Ontario. She began her legal career as a researcher, focusing largely on Indigenous rights and other vulnerable populations, before building a practice with a local Vancouver Island firm and later founding KNS Law in 2021. Sutherland's practice centres on family and estate law, and she describes her approach as collaborative, working closely with each client through major life transitions such as separation, family planning, retirement, and estate planning.
