About Sarah
Sarah Runyon's practice is limited to criminal litigation and appeals across British Columbia, and she appears in courts at every level, including the Supreme Court of Canada. She defends clients facing a range of charges, from murder and manslaughter to drug trafficking and sexual assault allegations, and has acted as intervenor counsel for organizations such as West Coast LEAF and the Pivot Legal Society. After earning her J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2011, she served as a judicial law clerk to justices of the BC Supreme Court and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2013. Runyon holds a B.A. (Honours) in Philosophy from Carleton University and was a Fulbright Scholar and Law Foundation Scholarship recipient in 2018-2019. She has presented on criminal procedure and evidence for groups including the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, CLEBC, and Courthouse Libraries, and her legal writing has appeared in journals including the Manitoba Law Journal and the Windsor Yearbook of Access to Justice.
