About Julie

Julie Qiu earned a Bachelor of Laws from Renmin University of China in 2002 and a Master of Laws from the same institution in 2004, and worked for several years at the Nanjing Arbitration Commission. She later founded and ran an international e-commerce company, immigrating to Canada as an entrepreneur in 2014. After settling in Canada, Julie completed a Juris Doctor at the University of British Columbia in 2021, concentrating in the Business Law Program with a focus on corporate/commercial law, family law, and estate law, and became a practising lawyer in British Columbia in 2022. She founded the first law firm in the UBC area to help clients navigate immigration to Canada and now practises corporate law, family law, and wills and estates law. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of British Columbia and volunteers as a pro bono lawyer with Access Pro Bono.
