Immigration LawJouman El-Asmar is the founder and principal attorney of El-Asmar Legal, a boutique firm specializing in Canadian immigration and refugee law. She has represented clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada in complex, high-stakes matters. She studied psychology and international development at McGill University before earning her law degree from UQAM in 2010, and is a member of the Barreau du Quebec and a full member of the Law Society of Alberta. She has served on the board of the Association Quebecoise des Avocats et Avocates en droit de l'Immigration and co-chairs the Family Separation Working Group of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. She's currently pursuing an LL.M. in Constitutional Law at Osgoode Hall Law School and speaks English, French, and Arabic.
