About Jacques

Portela is the founding partner of the firm and a member of both the Quebec Bar and the Law Society of Ontario (Barrister & Solicitor). He also belongs to the Accounting Council and the Bar Association in Brazil. He holds a Juris Doctor in North American Common Law and an LL.B. from the University of Montreal, along with a master's degree in public law with a dissertation in tax law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences, and an additional LL.B. from the Federal University of Amazonas, both in Brazil. He practises civil, real estate, business, family, criminal, labour and immigration law, and reads, speaks and writes French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
