About Gemma

Gemma began her career at Smith Neufeld Jodoin in 1997 as a legal assistant before entering law school in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 2008, articled with the firm, and was called to the Manitoba Bar in May 2009, becoming a partner in 2018. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with particular experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and owner-manager taxation, as well as estate planning, trusts, wills and real estate. Gemma completed the first year of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program to strengthen her work on complex taxation matters. She is a member of the Manitoba Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association, serves as legal counsel to the Steinbach Pistons Junior A Hockey Team, and has served on the board of the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce.
