About Garry
Garry K. Thomas focuses on family law, specializing in the complex financial issues arising from relationship breakdown, including determination of guideline income and child or spousal support, valuation of corporate interests, and division of real property, pensions, and other financial assets. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, including numerous appearances before the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and is also skilled at negotiating settlements to avoid litigation where possible. In complex files, he works with business valuators, chartered accountants, psychologists, actuaries, and other experts. Garry graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 1984 and practised in Ontario for several years before returning to British Columbia, where he was called to the bar in 1994. He practised at a leading British Columbia law firm before starting his own practice, now known as Garry Thomas Law. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, the Law Society of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association.
