About France

France Collette was admitted to the Barreau in 1999 and articled in Sainte-Julie before continuing her practice there, first on her own and then, from 2003, in partnership at Monette & Collette, Avocats. For nearly twenty-five years she has focused primarily on family law, handling separation, divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and division of family patrimony and matrimonial regimes. She appears before the courts but also helps clients settle matters amicably in the best interest of both parties and any children. In 2006 she became an accredited family mediator, allowing her to offer government-subsidized mediation sessions to separating couples. She has served on the Barreau de Longueuil's Comité sur la justice participative, including as its president, and belongs to the Association des avocats et avocates en droit familial du Québec, the Association de médiation familiale du Québec, and the Association des avocats et avocates de province.
