About Fedora

Fedora Mathieu is the founder of Leatherback Law, a virtual firm practising Canadian immigration and refugee law. Since 2013 she has worked as a lawyer in private practice in Montreal and Toronto, representing foreign workers, students, and asylum seekers, and most recently practised as a refugee lawyer at Legal Aid Ontario. She regularly represents clients before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, all levels of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, and the Federal Court of Canada. Fedora has taught at Queen's University and the University of Ottawa and has spoken at continuing education events for the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Association for Refugee Lawyers. She holds an LL.B. from the Universite de Montreal (2010) and an LL.M. from the University of Ottawa (2014), and is a member of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, the Refugee Lawyers Association, and l'Association Quebecoise des avocats et avocates en immigration.
