Elysabeth Bougie was sworn in as a lawyer in 1989 after studying law at the Université de Montréal. She worked at Roy, Dagenais & Allen in Laval, a firm of about fifteen lawyers, from 1988 to 1995, then opened her own practice in the Sainte-Rose district in November 1995, moving it to boulevard Sainte-Rose in the Vieux Sainte-Rose neighbourhood in October 2008.
