About Douglas

Douglas G. Gunn was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, and raised on family farms near Port Burwell. He graduated from law school at the University of Western Ontario, completed the Bar Admission Course at Osgoode Hall in Toronto, and was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1967. He established Gunn & Associates in 1984 after working with mentors Edward O. Fanjoy and Murray J. Hennessey. His practice emphasizes civil litigation and estate litigation, with a specialty in claims of an agricultural nature, and he maintains ties to agriculture through cattle farming and membership in the Canadian Hereford Association. He has served on the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation board, chaired the Ontario Crop Insurance Arbitration Board, and belongs to the Elgin Law Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of Alberta, and the Advocates Society.
