About Demetrios
Demetrios Smirnios was born and raised in Montréal and practises civil, corporate and real estate law alongside trademark, industrial design and copyright law and general litigation. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law of Université de Montréal and also holds a Certificate in Management and a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting from McGill University's Faculty of Management. As a law student he represented Université de Montréal at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition and co-authored one of the top three factums in Canada that year. He completed the Bar Admission Course at the École du Barreau du Québec and articled with McCarthy Tétrault before being called to the bar. Smirnios is a member of the Barreau du Québec and the Barreau de Montréal and is registered as a trademark agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. He has served on law society committees and volunteers his time to a number of charitable and community organizations, including the Canadian Hellenic Congress and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Toronto.
