About Bilal
Bilal Bashir is a Barrister and Solicitor enrolled as an attorney with the Law Society of Ontario after completing the National Committee on Accreditation equivalency requirements. He studied law in three common law jurisdictions, earning an undergraduate law degree from the University of London focused on the laws of England and Wales and a master's degree in law from the University of California, Berkeley. Before moving to Canada he practised as an advocate of the Higher Courts of Pakistan, handling constitutional and judicial review matters as well as banking, finance, and corporate and commercial issues for clients including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo International, and Citibank. His Canadian practice focuses on immigration law, including advising on immigration applications and representing clients before Canadian immigration tribunals and the Federal Court in judicial review proceedings. He has represented clients in spousal sponsorship appeals, vacation of refugee status proceedings, and permanent resident travel document appeals, and has also handled matters involving permanent and temporary residence, temporary resident permits, and criminal rehabilitation.
