Agricultural LawBarry has practised law for more than 30 years, handling real estate, wills and estate planning, and civil litigation for Peterborough clients, alongside governance and compliance work for charities. He spent ten years as Director of Legal Affairs for a national Christian charities umbrella organization, advising charities across Canada, and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada as intervener counsel in five cases. He began his career in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1993 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1996. Barry holds a Ph.D. in law from Leiden University, an LL.M. in constitutional law from Osgoode Hall Law School, an M.A. from Memorial University, an M.P.A.C.S. from the University of Waterloo, an LL.B. from Western University, and a B.A. from Burman University. He received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. In 2023 he took over Bussey Ainsworth from founder Gary Ainsworth, continuing its real estate, wills and estates, and non-profit practice in Peterborough.
