About Alona

Alona Mercado co-founded Mercado Trinh Law LLP with Yenny Trinh in November 2015 and is a partner at the firm. She was called to the Manitoba bar in 1999 and to the Ontario bar in 2003. She articled and practised at Taylor McCaffrey LLP before relocating to Ottawa in 2001, later served as a policy advisor to a senior federal cabinet minister for Manitoba, and practised at Monk Goodwin LLP from 2005 until she co-founded her current firm. Her practice covers residential real estate and mortgages, wills, powers of attorney and estate administration, business law, immigration, and committeeship and guardianship matters. She also writes a legal column for the Pilipino Express and sits on several community boards.
