Clokie & Co. Family Lawyers is a small family law firm in downtown Vancouver, founded in 1993 by Bruce Clokie. Clokie was called to the bar in 1988 and spent an earlier part of a career at the Vancouver Stock Exchange, policing brokers and reviewing public company listings, before opening an independent practice built around family law and an interest in psychology. The firm has grown to three lawyers who handle divorce, custody, spousal and child support, division of property, and child protection matters, moving between negotiation, mediation, and litigation depending on what a file needs.
Two associates round out the team. Vinessa Sachdev earned a law degree from Bond University in Australia, articled at the firm starting in 2022, and was called to the bar in 2023. Ciara Dixon graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia and joined the firm after articling there too. The office is in Nelson Square on Nelson Street in downtown Vancouver, and the firm offers a free 20 minute consultation to new family law clients.
