Cassels Murray is a two-lawyer firm in Victoria, British Columbia, that limits its practice to family law, fertility law, and wills and estates. Founders Lynda Cassels and Christine Murray built the firm around that narrow focus rather than a general practice. On the family law side they handle separation and divorce, marriage and cohabitation agreements, and adoption, and on the estates side they handle wills, incapacity planning, and estate administration and disputes. Both areas can also go through mediation or arbitration instead of court.

Fertility law is a less common specialty for a small BC firm. Cassels Murray drafts egg, sperm, and embryo donation agreements and surrogacy agreements, and appears in court on parentage declarations for donors, recipients, surrogates, and intended parents. Cassels earned a law degree from the University of Victoria in 1998, and Murray earned a law degree from the University of Alberta in 2008 after undergraduate study at the University of British Columbia and is licensed in both British Columbia and Alberta. Both are accredited family law mediators with the Law Society of British Columbia, and Murray is also an accredited arbitrator.
