About Camas Law

Camas Law is a small firm in Victoria, British Columbia, focused on wills, estates, trusts and conservation law. It's led by Margaret Sasges, K.C., who has practiced law for more than 30 years. Sasges concentrates on wills, estates and trusts, and has also built a practice in conservation law, working with landowners and conservation organizations to put legal structures in place that protect natural land in perpetuity. The firm helps clients with estate and incapacity planning and estate administration, and can act as executor for clients who don't have someone else they'd want to appoint.

Sasges has served as chair of the Law Foundation of British Columbia and sat on a British Columbia Law Institute committee that worked on the overhaul of BC's wills and estates legislation, along with involvement in the Canadian Bar Association at both the provincial and national level. The small team also includes a paralegal who has worked on wills and estates files alongside Sasges since 2011, and an articling student who practiced law in China for six years before moving to Canada, completing a Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria and now bilingual in English and Mandarin. Camas Law offers in person, telephone and video appointments, plus a secure online portal for exchanging documents.
