Beacon Law Centre is a law firm on British Columbia's Saanich Peninsula, with offices in Sidney and in the Royal Oak area of Victoria. It traces back to Elgersma & Company, Legal Counsel, a practice Del Elgersma founded in Sidney in 1999. Lianne Macdonald joined as a founding partner the next year, when the practice took the Beacon Law name. In 2003, Elgersma and Macdonald bought Dalsin & Company, a practice in Victoria's Broadmead area, and by 2004 the two practices had merged into Beacon Law Corporation, giving the firm its current base in both cities.
Beacon Law now has six lawyers who handle business law, real estate, wills and estate planning, probate and estate administration, and blended family estate planning, and every lawyer at the firm is also a notary. Elgersma is described as one of the first lawyers in British Columbia to write wills in plain language, and the firm still promises clients a clear quote before a file gets started rather than an open-ended hourly estimate.
