About Allan Law

Clients rate this firm highly on Google.

Allan Law is a small, family run firm based in Aurora, Ontario, serving York Region and the wider Greater Toronto Area. Its roots go back to a Bay Street practice Gordon Allan founded in Toronto's financial district right after being called to the Bar in 1974, working in criminal law, personal injury, and family law before narrowing the focus to family law. In the early 1990s Gordon opened a satellite office in Aurora, then moved the whole practice there and added wills, estate administration, and real estate to what the firm handled. Gordon retired in 2018 after 44 years of practice.

Jason Allan, Gordon's son, joined the firm in 2010 and now owns it, continuing the practice into a second generation. Jason holds an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. in political science from Dalhousie University, and works as both a lawyer and a mediator, with a practice centred on wills, estates, and family law mediation. Leslie Allan, who holds an LL.B. from Queen's University along with a B.A. from the University of British Columbia, worked in Toronto litigation and securities law and spent ten years as in-house counsel at a Big Four accounting firm before joining Allan Law. Today the firm concentrates on wills and powers of attorney, estate administration, and real estate law, and belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the York Region Law Association.
