KLH Law is the Windsor, Ontario practice of Kristen L. Hales, a family and estate lawyer who opened the firm in 2016. Hales earned a B.A. in English and Anthropology from the University of Toronto's Trinity College in 1991, completed a law degree at the University of Windsor in 1994, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1996. Before starting the practice, Hales articled with Lerner & Associates in London, worked as an associate at Barat & Associates in Windsor, co-founded Gibson & Hales in 1998 and Hales, Beaumont in 2006, served as lead counsel for the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society from 2006 to 2008, and was an associate at Stipic, Arpino, Weisman LLP from 2008 to 2016.

The practice focuses on family law, including divorce, custody and access, adoption, child protection, support, and property division, along with wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and estate administration. Hales is trained in collaborative family law and mediation, was appointed to the Office of the Children's Lawyer's Personal Rights Panel in 2001, served until 2006, and was reappointed in 2008, has held an appointment as a Deputy Judge of the Superior Court of Justice Small Claims Court since 2011, and teaches paralegal advocacy as a sessional instructor at St. Clair College.
