Is Montero Law an in-person or a virtual law firm?

It's an entirely virtual, paperless firm based in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, so most of the work happens by phone, email, and video, and clients can be anywhere in Ontario. If you'd rather meet face to face, the firm offers in-person meetings as an option.

What areas of law does Montero Law handle?

Five: business and corporate law, real estate, family law, wills and estates, and debt collection. Within those it covers a range of work, from incorporating a company to buying a home, drafting a will, or enforcing a judgment.

Can Montero Law help me buy or sell a home?

Yes. The firm handles residential and commercial purchases and sales, mortgages and refinancing, title and status certificate review, purchase and sale agreements, and commercial leases.

Does Montero Law offer limited-scope or unbundled family law help?

Yes. On family matters you can choose full representation or unbundled, limited-scope services. The firm also offers collaborative family law and mediation alongside separation agreements, child and spousal support, and divorce.

Can Montero Law prepare my will and powers of attorney?

Yes. Its estate planning work includes mirror wills for spouses, powers of attorney for incapacity planning, multiple wills structured to reduce probate tax, and business succession planning.

Does the firm help businesses collect unpaid debts?

Yes. Montero Law works on debt recovery through demand letters, litigation, asset discovery, and enforcement of judgments such as garnishments and writs of seizure and sale. It offers a free consultation first to assess whether legal action is likely to be worthwhile.
