About The MacLeod Law Firm

The MacLeod Law Firm is a Toronto based firm that practises only employment and labour law. Its motto, "All We Do is WORK," sums up the approach: no real estate, no family law, just the employment relationship from hiring through termination. The firm has practised employment law for over 20 years and takes on both sides of the table, advising employers on compliance and terminations while representing employees on dismissal, severance, and workplace disputes.

Founder Doug MacLeod has focused exclusively on workplace law for almost 30 years, appearing before Ontario courts, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. A graduate of Queen's University's Faculty of Law with an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, MacLeod has taught continuing education courses for the Law Society of Ontario and workplace law at George Brown College, and received the Ontario Bar Association's Randall Echlin Mentorship Award in 2018 for contributions to employment law and mentoring in the profession. The firm's main office is in Toronto, with satellite locations in Barrie and Collingwood.

The neighbourhood

The firm's main office is in Two Bloor West, a 34 storey office tower at the corner of Yonge and Bloor. Built in 1972, the tower connects directly underground to the Bloor-Yonge subway station, a downtown base for a firm that represents both employers and employees.

Its Barrie and Collingwood locations aren't standalone branch offices. The Barrie address is inside SuiteWorks Business Centre, a shared office and meeting space in the south end of Barrie. The Collingwood address is inside a coworking space in the town. Both let the firm meet clients outside Toronto without staffing a full office in each location.
