NextLaw is a Toronto based law firm that focuses on one area of Ontario law: defending drivers against stunt driving, speeding, and other Highway Traffic Act charges. The firm's main office is at 250 University Avenue in downtown Toronto, with a second office at 222 Queen Street in Ottawa. Partners Dan Joffe and Jon Cohen, both licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, run the practice together and appear in Provincial Offences Courts across the province, including Windsor, Hamilton, Barrie, and Ottawa.
Dan Joffe holds a JD/MBA from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business and built the firm's speeding ticket insurance calculator, a tool that shows drivers how a conviction could affect their insurance costs. Alongside the traffic defence practice, Joffe also handles U.S. entry waiver applications for Canadians who have been refused entry to the United States because of a criminal record or a past DUI. The firm submits those applications through e-SAFE, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's digital system, which the CBP limits to licensed lawyers rather than paper based service companies. NextLaw offers free initial consultations and interest free monthly payment plans, and it updates clients by text as their case moves through the court process.
