About Metzler Law

Metzler Law is a solo criminal defence practice run by Patrick Metzler, a Toronto lawyer who has been a trial lawyer for more than 33 years and in private practice as a criminal defence lawyer since 1998. Before opening the practice, Metzler spent over ten years as an Assistant Crown Attorney prosecuting criminal code offences in Toronto's courts, including high profile murder cases, and before that prosecuted cases for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources involving environmental, constitutional, aboriginal, and treaty issues. The firm concentrates on driving related criminal charges: impaired driving, refusing a breath sample, driving while suspended or disqualified, and stunt, careless, or dangerous driving, along with other criminal matters such as domestic assault, weapons charges, and narcotics offences.

The firm has an office in Etobicoke, in Evington Hall on Evans Avenue, and a second office in downtown Collingwood, matching a service area that Metzler Law lists as covering Toronto, Peel, York, Durham, Halton, Niagara, Middlesex, Peterborough, Orillia, Simcoe, and Muskoka.
