About DMR Criminal Defence

DMR Criminal Defence is a solo criminal law practice run by David Malcolm Reeve, Barrister and Solicitor, from an office on Spadina Avenue in downtown Toronto. The practice handles criminal trials, bail hearings, bail reviews, and appeals, and accepts both Legal Aid and private retainer clients in and around the Greater Toronto Area.

Reeve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University and an LLB with First Class Honours from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England, where the coursework covered Canadian, British, and European law. Reeve was called to the Bar of Ontario in September 2019 after articling at Camden Lane Law Chambers in Toronto under criminal defence lawyers John Struthers, Maija Martin, and David Butt. Since then, the practice has focused exclusively on criminal law, with appearances at every level of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario on appeal hearings and bail pending appeal applications. Matters have included murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, and drug possession charges, both at trial and on appeal. Reeve is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
