BrophyLaw Professional Corporation is a solo Toronto practice run by Dorothy Brophy, focused on corporate and commercial law together with wills and estate planning. Brophy spent a number of years at Blaney McMurtry and then Aylsworth Thompson before opening a solo practice, now in its 25th year. The practice serves small and medium sized business owners, handling contracts, partnership and shareholder agreements, business purchases and sales, and succession planning, alongside wills, powers of attorney, and estate planning for individuals and families.

Brophy holds an MA in philosophy and world religions from the University of Toronto, earned while already practising law. The firm keeps its structure lean, using clerks and paralegals for routine work so that Brophy's own time goes to client meetings and higher level advice. It also connects clients working through terminal illness or end of life planning to an end of life doula consultant as an outside resource, an addition to the usual estate planning toolkit.

Brophy has written on business and legal topics for Advocate Daily and was quoted in a Globe and Mail small business article comparing sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. Client relationships at the firm tend to run long, including one with a financial planner who has worked with Brophy for 22 years.
