About Ramsay Law Office

Ramsay Law Office Professional Corporation has practiced law in the Temiskaming region for more than 90 years. Ralph Ramsay founded the firm in Cobalt in 1932, as that town's silver mining boom was declining, and moved the practice to New Liskeard in 1934, where it has stayed since. Peter Ramsay, the second generation of the family to practice at the firm, joined in 1968 after articling, having graduated from the University of Toronto's law school in 1966. The firm moved to its current office on Armstrong Street in 1994 and became Ramsay Law Office Professional Corporation in 2005.

Today the firm is led by Bill Ramsay, called to the Ontario bar in 2000 after a law degree from the University of Alberta, and Sophia Beaulac, called to the Ontario bar in 2009 and an associate at the firm since 2024. The three lawyer firm practices real estate, wills and powers of attorney, estate administration, and corporate and commercial law, and offers its services in both English and French. The firm does not practice family or criminal law, and is associated with Ferguson Barristers, which provides personal injury and litigation services to clients.
