The neighbourhood

The Mississauga office is on Queen Street South in Streetsville, a neighbourhood on the Credit River in the city's northwestern corner. Queen Street is the name Mississauga Road kept from Streetsville's days as an independent village, just as Bristol Road becomes Main Street there.

Streetsville was incorporated as a village in 1858. For the next hundred years it was long and narrow, with its shops, churches, cenotaph and library all on Queen Street between the river and the rail line. It was a town until the 1974 amalgamations that created the City of Mississauga, and it still works to keep its historic buildings and streetscapes.

The Cambridge office is on Queen Street East in Hespeler Village. Hespeler is a former town on the Speed River, and in 1973 it joined Preston, Galt and the hamlet of Blair to become the City of Cambridge. A lot of the downtown is still made up of buildings from the 1900s, which is why film and TV crews have shot along Queen Street and the surrounding blocks. Each summer, parts of Queen Street East close to cars.
