About Lex Tripon

Lex Tripon is the Mississauga law practice of Catalin Tripon, a sole practitioner serving entrepreneurs and private companies across Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Toronto. Tripon founded the firm in 2016 to focus on tax law, business law, and customs and trade law. The practice represents clients in tax disputes before the Canada Revenue Agency, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal, and in trade matters before the Canada Border Services Agency and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, including tariff classification, anti-dumping, and countervailing duty questions.

Tripon's background spans three legal systems. Before moving to Canada, Tripon practiced corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial law in Romania, and has been a member of the Romanian bar since 2007. After articling with the Canadian International Trade Tribunal from 2013 to 2014 on tariff classification and federal procurement files, Tripon practiced administrative, regulatory, and corporate law with the Ontario Racing Commission from 2014 to 2015, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2014. Tripon holds a bachelor of civil law from Romania (1997), a master of laws and a doctorate in law from Hungary (1998 and 2003), and a JD from Ontario (2013), and became a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist in 2018.
