Akrami & Associates is an immigration law firm based in Mississauga, Ontario. Shabnam Akrami founded the firm after working in corporate immigration law, with a focus on work permits, temporary resident permits and rehabilitation cases. As an immigrant to Canada, Akrami built the firm to work as a strategic partner for clients rather than a paperwork processor. Akrami holds a paralegal diploma, a law degree from the University of London in the UK, and a bachelor's degree in criminology and a master's in socio-legal studies, both from York University, and is licensed as a paralegal through the Law Society of Upper Canada and as a consultant through the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.

The firm's practice covers most of Canadian immigration law: permanent residence through Express Entry, family sponsorship and business immigration; temporary residence including work permits, study permits and visitor visas; Canadian citizenship applications; and more contested matters such as appeals, judicial review, denied entry and criminal rehabilitation. The team includes immigration lawyers along with regulated Canadian immigration consultants (RCICs), and between them they cover Farsi, Arabic, French, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki and Hindko in addition to English.
