About Ross Milliken

Ross Milliken is a solo family law practice run out of Bolton, Ontario by W. Ross Milliken. Milliken earned a B.A. from York University and an LL.B. from McGill University, then was called to the Ontario bar in 1992. The practice handles separation agreements, divorce and other family court applications, child and spousal support, parenting arrangements, the division of family property, and marriage and cohabitation contracts, along with wills, powers of attorney, and estate trusteeship. Milliken is trained in collaborative family law and appears in courts across the region, including Brampton, Orangeville, Newmarket, Barrie, and Toronto, not just in Bolton.

The practice favours negotiated outcomes over contested litigation where that's possible, to avoid the added time and cost of contested court proceedings. The office at 49 Queen Street North is shared with other small law practices, including one focused on real estate, wills, and powers of attorney, so a client dealing with a related matter can sometimes handle it in the same building. Milliken's assistant, Helen Croxon, has more than 25 years of experience in the role.
