About VM Law

VM Law is a criminal defence and real estate practice in Brampton, run by lawyer Vanessa Mistry. Mistry earned a Bachelor of Law with honours from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, then completed National Committee on Accreditation qualifications before moving to Ontario. Mistry articled with a criminal defence lawyer in Brampton, working on matters that included drug offences, firearm offences, sexual assault, assault, fraud, and driving offences, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2019. VM Law opened right after that call to the bar.

The firm represents clients charged with criminal and regulatory offences across the Greater Toronto Area, covering everything from assault and domestic assault to impaired driving, drug and firearm charges, and youth offences under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. VM Law also handles real estate transactions (residential and commercial purchases and sales, title transfers, and mortgage refinancing), along with wills and powers of attorney for property and for personal care. Mistry belongs to the Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Law Society of Ontario, and the Peel Law Association.
