About Jack McCulligh, Barrister and Solicitor

W. John McCulligh Professional Corporation is a solo law practice in Brampton run by Jack McCulligh, who grew up in Oakville and earned an honours BA and a law degree from Queen's University in Kingston. McCulligh was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983 and moved to Brampton that year to begin practising. McCulligh worked in partnership until 1990, then opened an independent firm and has run it from Brampton ever since.

The practice covers criminal defence for adults and young offenders, family law matters such as divorce and separation, real estate purchases and sales, wills and estates planning, and powers of attorney. Before entering private practice, McCulligh worked as a case worker for the John Howard Society of Ontario in Kingston and later as executive director of the Peel Assessment Workshop. That background carries into ongoing volunteer work: a board seat with the John Howard Society of Peel, including a term as its president, plus two years as president of the Peel Criminal Lawyers Association.
