About Heckburn Law

Heckburn Law is a solo practice in downtown Brampton, Ontario, founded by Ruchelle Heckburn, a barrister, solicitor and notary public. Heckburn was called to the Ontario bar in June 2016 and opened the practice shortly after. The firm handles three areas: family law, residential real estate law, and wills, trusts and estates. The family side covers divorce, child custody, child support, mediation and domestic violence matters. The real estate practice covers home purchases and sales, mortgage and refinancing work, title searches and transfers, and new condominium closings. The estates work covers wills, powers of attorney for property and personal care, and trust planning.

The office sits at 100 Queen Street West, in Brampton's small downtown core near Main Street, and Heckburn Law meets clients there in person as well as virtually. The firm's reach extends well beyond Brampton itself, serving clients in Toronto, Vaughan, Oakville, Milton, Richmond Hill, Ajax, Georgetown, Alliston and Tottenham. Heckburn Law is on the Legal Aid Ontario roster for family law, so clients with a legal aid certificate for a family matter can retain the firm through that program.
