About James H. Rayner, Barrister & Solicitor

James H. Rayner, Barrister & Solicitor, is a sole family law practice in Woodstock, Ontario. The practice's namesake earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Western Ontario in 1982, added a Diploma in Practical French along the way, then completed a Master of Arts in Public History at the same university in 1988. A Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor followed in 1994, and call to the Ontario Bar came in 1996 after articling at a large national law firm in the Waterloo region. A general litigation and family law practice followed, narrowing further in 2001 when the focus moved to family law full time at a full-service law firm.

The office at 511 Princess Street now handles the full range of family law work, including separation and divorce, child custody and access, child and spousal support, and the division of property, along with cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, and child protection matters under the Child and Family Services Act. James H. Rayner is a member of the Oxford Law Association and is listed on Legal Aid Ontario's roster for family law, child protection, and domestic violence advice.
