Stieda Law Professional Corporation is a solo Ottawa firm run by Peter Stieda, who has practiced family law, child protection law, and immigration law since 2004. Stieda also acts as legal counsel in mental health and disability law and appears regularly before courts, boards, and tribunals in Ottawa and the surrounding region, as well as in Montreal.

Stieda completed two law degrees at the University of Ottawa, one in common law and one in civil law, along with a B.Sc. from the Universite de Montreal. That civil law training carries over into the firm's Montreal work, since Quebec's legal system isn't the same as Ontario's. Stieda's earlier career included a stint as legal advisor at the Parliament of Canada, along with time working in Osaka, Japan, and an international exchange program in Ecuador. Stieda Law provides services in both English and French, and the firm's website says it tries to find workable fee options when cost gets in the way of a client's access to justice.
