About Pantalone Family Law

Pantalone Family Law is a solo family law practice in Ottawa, run by Jack E. Pantalone, who was called to the Bar of Ontario in March 1989. Pantalone earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) in 1987, then narrowed an earlier general practice to family law exclusively. The firm handles divorce, custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, separation agreements, and variation applications, working from an office on Lisgar Street in downtown Ottawa.

The firm takes a settlement first approach, aiming to resolve matters through mediation and negotiation before turning to litigation or arbitration. Pantalone Family Law moved to its current office in November 2008, and in 2010 Pantalone re-opened the mediation practice that had been suspended since the earlier office lacked room for it. Pantalone earlier served on the panel of the Office of the Official Guardian, now the Office of the Children's Lawyer, representing children in family law and child protection matters. When a case does go to court, the firm handles matters at trial and on appeal, including contested custody disputes.
