About Chiarelli Cramer Witteveen LLP

Chiarelli Cramer Witteveen LLP is a small, general practice firm in the Centrepointe area of Ottawa's west end, with three lawyers on staff. Robert (Bob) Chiarelli and Garry Guzzo founded it in 1969 as Chiarelli Guzzo. Kenneth Cramer joined as a partner in 1978 and Hank Witteveen followed in 1980, and the firm eventually took their combined surnames. Chiarelli and Guzzo both left in the late 1970s and early 1980s for public careers. Chiarelli served as Mayor of Ottawa from 2000 to 2006 and sat as a member of the Ontario legislature from 1987 to 1997 and again from 2010 to 2018. Guzzo served as a provincial court judge from 1978 to 1989 and later sat as a member of the Ontario legislature from 1995 to 2003.

Cramer retired in 2014, and Witteveen soon left to become a Deputy Judge in the Small Claims Division of the Ontario Superior Court. Ken Dunham and Dilshad Mohamed became the firm's current partners, joining in 2014 and 2015 after earlier careers in the high tech industry. Today the firm handles wills and estates, real estate, family law, civil litigation, criminal and quasi-criminal defence, guardianship and powers of attorney, and corporate services, working from an office on Centrepointe Drive that it's held since a short move two doors down in March 2020.
