Probate applications

The firm has made Certificate of Appointment applications in Toronto as well as across Ontario. It files with the Ontario Superior Court and handles beneficiary notification. For straightforward uncontested files, its goal is to be ready to file within 14 business days once every required document and approval has arrived. Since August 13, 2025, when Ontario Regulation 72/25 updated the required court forms, every application goes in on the current forms, and the firm flags the 180-day Estate Information Return deadline.

Estate administration steps

Every new client gets a complete probate document checklist as soon as the file opens. The firm calculates the Estate Administration Tax and pays it on behalf of the estate, and post-probate estate administration is billed at $450 an hour or quoted. (Fees as of October 2026.)

Wills and powers of attorney

Osborne Law Group prepares wills and powers of attorney for property and personal care for individuals, couples, families and business owners. Spouses and partners can have coordinated wills and powers of attorney, and the firm usually quotes a will and both powers of attorney together as a package.

Residential and commercial transactions

Buyers, sellers and lenders in St. Catharines and around Niagara Region can get the firm's help with residential or commercial real estate deals, and it registers the transfer and mortgage electronically through Teraview. Its files have also included purchases and sales in the Greater Toronto Area and northern Ontario.

New builds and commercial property

The firm's new-build work runs from the builder agreement to final closing, with Tarion coverage and interim occupancy among the steps in between. Niagara businesses and investors can also bring it commercial financing and the title issues that go with it.

Incorporations and reorganizations

Osborne Law Group sets up corporations under Ontario or federal law and looks after the pieces that come with them, such as share structure, minute books and the organizational resolutions that are often missed. Other corporate work includes amalgamations, estate freezes, holding company setups and share reorganizations, typically in coordination with the client's accountant.

Commercial leases and business clients

The firm reviews and negotiates commercial leases, acting for tenants as well as landlords. It works with business clients across a range of industries, among them owner-managed and family companies, professional corporations and property investors.
