About Pregler Law

Pregler Law is a small firm in Gravenhurst, Ontario, formerly known as Valerie J. Tingey Professional Corporation. It now operates under Carl Brian Pregler, a barrister, solicitor and notary public. Brian didn't start out in law: raised in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Brian earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, then came to Ontario for a law degree at Osgoode Hall and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, before spending nearly two decades in Toronto's corporate and financial services world and eventually relocating to Muskoka to practice law.

The firm handles real estate, wills and estate planning, corporate matters, family law, small claims and notary services for clients across Muskoka and the rest of Ontario. Four law clerks round out the team: Lou Scanlon, with nearly forty years in administrative and legal work now focused on real estate; Lynn Blackwell, a law clerk since 1989 who handles family law; Meaghan O'Neill, working toward Institute of Law Clerks certification; and Sara Cruickshank, a 2020 Georgian College law clerk graduate. Brian belongs to the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst and sits on the board of the Cottage Country Family Health Team.
